What’s New – Nearby Stadiums
Salt River Fields is a fan favorite for Scottsdale Park Suites guests. The main stadium, the only MLB facility to be built on Native American land, is immaculate and surrounded by 12 practice fields against a backdrop of scenic mountain views that provide a unique atmosphere unlike typical baseball stadiums. In 2020 Salt River Fields welcomed new food stands including Philly Cheesesteak, Nashville Hot Burger Basket, Beyond Meat Burger and Mustache Pretzels. They have also added an LED scoreboard and an updated team shop to grab your new fan gear.
This year Scottsdale Stadium unveils a newly renovated clubhouse, a 10,000 square-foot event center, along with new seating & main entry. Nestled in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, catching a few innings before dinner was never easier!
Getting to Sloan Park can’t be easier located just 4 miles from Scottsdale Park Suites. A free trolly operates from the north side of Tempe Marketplace by Thirsty Lion running every half hour. If you do not want to hassle with stadium parking or plan to hit a few shops after the game this is a great option! Cubs fans often visit Chicago staple Portillo’s famous hotdogs just down the road from Sloan Park. Also, be sure to check out Tempations Café – a cozy breakfast spot on your way to the stadium.
Want an autograph?
If meeting your favorite player or getting an autograph is on the agenda, be sure to attend practices! All practices are open to the public and are generally between 9:00am and 12:00pm. You will find players much more approachable. During and after the games players are known to hang near foul territory to sign autographs for fans.
Whether baseball is your passion, or casual interest, Spring Training in Scottsdale is an exciting experience that offers entertainment for both families and the rabid sports fan.
